How many times have you seen chiseled bodies on TikTok and thought about the extreme dedication it took to achieve it? (8-pack abs, anyone?)

If that’s your thing, then report to the gym, stat!

But if you simply want to be “fit & healthy,” the good news is that it’s actually easier than you think. I’m here to tell you that everybody can be fit and healthy…and happy!

The body is designed to be self-sustaining and it actually doesn’t take much to take care of it. The problem is that we have forgotten to do the most basic things for our body. We’ve taken it for granted, and so it should be no surprise that our health suffers.

Here are 5 very easy things you should do every day to be fit and healthy:

#1 Get To Sleep

Contrary to the belief that rigorous exercise and strict diets are the only paths to health, prioritizing sleep is a game-changer. Our bodies are designed to heal and regenerate during sleep, making it a crucial component of overall well-being. For example, sleeping boost the immune system, warding off diseases and infections.

So instead of pushing yourself to the limit, consider the restorative power of a good night’s sleep.

Establish a consistent sleep schedule, a calming bedtime routine, and an optimal sleep environment and make being healthy not just a distant dream, but a daily reality.

#2 Breathe Properly

Is breathing really that hard? Do you need willpower and discipline to breathe?

Breathing is an involuntary action, and yet, many of us underestimate its profound impact on our health. Proper breathing techniques can reduce stress, improve oxygenation throughout the body, and promote a sense of calm.

Deep diaphragmatic breathing can be effortlessly incorporated into your daily routine, contributing to enhanced well-being without the need for intense workouts or strict dietary restrictions.

Set aside a few minutes each day for deep breathing exercises or try incorporating mindfulness and deep breathing into your existing activities, such as during your commute or while working.

That’s it.

#3 Drink Lots of Aqua

It’s not so hard is it? And yet how many of us are running around slightly dehydrated and forgo optimal health.

Staying hydrated is one of the simplest and most overlooked aspects of maintaining good health. Our bodies are predominantly composed of water, and adequate hydration is essential for numerous bodily functions.

Instead of adhering to complex hydration schedules, simply listen to your body’s signals and drink water when you’re thirsty.

But if you’re the type who never feels thirsty, carry a reusable water bottle with you throughout the day and drink every 45 minutes…whether you feel thirsty or not.

Flavor the water with natural ingredients like lemon or cucumber and make it even more enjoyable.

Now is that so hard?

#4 LAUGH!

Seriously.

Laughter is hailed as the best medicine, and for good reason. Incorporating joy and humor into your daily life can have profound effects on your physical and mental well-being.

Laughter reduces stress hormones, boosts the immune system, and releases endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Rather than forcing yourself through grueling workouts, find activities and people that bring laughter into your life.

Instead of watching a series on serial killers, which stresses you no end, watch a funny movie or TV show.

Attend a comedy show. Engage in activities that bring joy and laughter into your day.

Find ways to laugh. Stand in front of a mirror if you have to.

Laugh!

How hard is that?

#5 Have a support group

Human connections play a crucial role in our overall health. Building a support group provides encouragement, accountability, and a sense of community.

Instead of isolating yourself, surround yourself with like-minded individuals who share your goals.

Connect with people over anything. Find something in common and start there. Build that friendship and have your own support group. Having a support group, knowing you have folks who have your back eases so much of the stress and anxiety that plague so many today.

See? It’s that easy!

Often, fitness and health is going with the flow and recognizing how our bodies and emotions are designed. It’s not that hard. And so everybody can be fit, happy and healthy!

Don’t think you have to have the discipline of a marine to be healthy.

Just, breathe…
